NEWS UPDATE: I have not competed in the NSWHCC's since 2008, but you will still see the car racing at Huntley. For now I am having fun doing clubbies close to home . . . and having fun! I choose not to attend all the NSWHCC rounds scattered all over NSW. I am also getting great value out of running chassis 059 at local Supersprints :)

22/11/11 Letter to Panel Chairman of HSWHCC: Bob. I just received a copy of the championship regs for next year. I noticed that if I do not register for the Championship (as I have not done since the mandatory attendance at all rounds was introduced) that my achievements at Huntley, Fairbairn and Bathurst will not be acknowledged in 2012. Therefore to appease your closed shop mentality, I will not be attending any of the Championship rounds in 2012. For a sport that touts how friendly, fun and accessible it is, NSW Hillclimb (at championship event level) scores an F. I will continue enjoying competing at hillclimb club events, and perhaps explore other enjoyable avenues of motorsport. I do have a competitive spirit, however I entered into this sport for the shear enjoyment I get out of racing the Jedi. When the fun ceases I will move on, as I have with previous motorsports I have competed in. One also has to be mindful of the poor state of the economy, and keep racing costs contained to reasonable levels. To the clubs that always are keen to accommodate me I thank you, and I hope to compete at as many of your club events as I can.

THE ENGINES:

- Suzuki GSXR1100WP engine. Engine capacities: 1145 (JE) or 1299cc SBM big block (The Beast), depending on track, or how I feel on the day. "The Beast" has proven to be quite an improvement on the engines to date.

- Heads developed, modified, flowed and ported in house by Stephen Hooker.

- Crankshaft and conrods have been crack tested, polished, cryo treated and shot peened (MT&C Engineers).

- Crack tested, cryo treated and shot peened (MT&C Engineers) undercut sequential gearbox.

THE CAR:

British made by John Corbyn. Initially CAMS log booked by Peter Edmondson, and raced successfully from 1998 to 2003, in the 751 to 1300 Formula Libre class, with an engine capacity of up to 1290cc. The car is the holder of records at most tracks that Tim and Peter raced at over that period.

Since buying the car Stephen has continued to refine the car, and continues to set track records and PB's at tracks in NSW.
